Tapping on kissing coworkers, future with Jack-Ok, I'm all about people being happy. They're a complicated issue. I don't know...as long as they're in a position where they don't get in trouble for being together, let them be together.
Simon and Bourne entertain convention-Whoa...Cliff Simon is rather in shape. I just read somewhere else that he was born in South Africa; I don't know why I thought New Zealand. Anyway, Ba'al is making a large comeback in season 10. I'd like to see him run for President or something, personally.

He talked about the annual Daddy-Daughter dance that he and Wylie attended for Valentine's Day. One of the songs they danced to there was "In My Daughter's Eyes," and he said it was an especially touching moment because ever since the birthday video for 2005, he and Wylie consider that to be "their" song.

He also wanted to share some happy news with his fans, saying, "I've only told one other person." But when asked if the information could be posted now, he wasn't sure, so for now it must be enough to say that the details will be added here just as soon as it is appropriate.

My weekend overall was good. Sci-Fi Friday was INSANE. First, Arthurian Mythology on SG-1, a wraith turned human back to wraith on Atlantis, and then just an overall "OH MY &*%@" on Galactica. I'm also quite addicted to DDR, although my calves hurt quite a bit. Combined with broomball today, that didn't help much.

Saturday was really boring. We cleaned, played DDR some more, (a lot more), and went to Brokeback Mountain. Ok-it's a good movie, but I'll have to admit I saw a bit more of Heath Ledger than I ever want to. Moon, Alex, Chris and I went to go see it; it was fun. And then DDR some more, and then I totally fell asleep during Muppet Treasure Island. I love that movie, and AARGH...I fell asleep. I didn't even realize it until Tim, Stu and Chris woke me up. Played one more round of DDR, climbed into my loft and passed out with being tired.

Woke up this morning, had food, watched Stargate Atlantis and SG-1. Then, got ready to play broomball. The bruise I had on my knee is back; nearly in an identical pattern as it was a couple weeks ago. (I'll post a pic sometime.) I was really bad the first half of the game, but the second half I got my ice legs back; after not playing a week because of my cold, and I had some pretty good helping saves, I think. I got a complement from someone who has become one of my favorite people in the world and that made me feel good (who doesn't after that circomstance?)

Supper today, I was a bit of an ass. I'm totally not used to NOT being around people whos families don't make a living from farming, and that came out tonight. Chris, another person from the country, was there; he kind of kept me from doing something I would've regretted, so that was good.

I guess it was bound to happen sometime; it's just, the way it came out I didn't like. Everyone talks about monetary, urban/suburban and racial divisions in the United States; I don't think that enough people talk about the rural/"not rural" (for lack of a better word) divide. I mean, we're not all Wrangler-wearing, cowboy boot wearing, country music listening (even though that's what's coming from my iTunes right now), hicks who talk with western accents.

Farming's not the pretty fields and gorgeous animals you tend to see in Hollywood movies. It's about getting up early, long hours, potentially dangerous situations with livestock and equipment, and often times for many farmers, doing that, then helping out neighbors with equipment and such, helping elderly neighbors feed their livestock and farm their land, and then going to jobs in town. And if you're my parents, you do all of that, and then you go and do your "paying" jobs in town. Both my parents have multiple. It's a rough business; farmers have to take every precaution to protect their livestock because every time a coyote comes along and kills one, or a possum gets in and eats the corn you use to feed said livestock, you lose money. Things have to be done. And coyotes are crafty little buggars. I know it sounds cold and I didn't like it when I was little, but it's what's got to be done.

I know plenty of people know this, but I think that rural people and people who live in big cities can learn a lot from each other. I'll admit that this goes both ways; I have knowingly thought some of the same things about "city kids" as I'm sure they've thought about "country kids" It's like what my shirt from FFA says: "Q: Where would you be without Agriculture?" "A: Naked and Hungry." Of course, without people in the big cities to buy the products produced from Agricultural means, farmers don't have a market to make the money they use to feed their families or send their kids to college. People who don't like farm subsidies? Tell them they can pay twice as much for a pound of American beef.

That last part was a little off-topic. Seeing how long this has gotten, I think I'm going to end it here and let the masses battle this issue out

It was EXTREMELY cold here, so instead of going to improv last night, I totally stayed inside to watch Sci-Fi Friday. My mother would've killed me if she heard I went out in wind chills of below zero when I really didn't HAVE to, especially when I'm sick. I might go tonight...I'll have to play it by ear. I've begun to cough, which isn't a good sign.

So...I'll start things off with SG-1. Holy crap. The good thing was I didn't have the urge to kill Mitchell at the end of the episode; except for when he said they're watching Starship Troopers (I swear, the worst movie on the planet). Teal'c was all calm and cool-how else would he be? Daniel was, well, Daniel was Daniel speaking all his languages and stuff. Carter was back to her saving everyone's collective asses once again (for some reason, that never gets old with me), and I absolutely loved her dialog with Woolsey. It reminded me of first season Carter, and it was AWESOME to see that. When the writers said that we were going to see more of Carter going back to her roots, they weren't kidding. (Now, if the writers could just resolve the other matter that's been associated with her forever, I'd be good.)

Battlestar Galactica-Awesome. I really can't say anything other than that about it. Absolutely awesome.

For the first time in my colligate career (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong) I am sick. Aargh. I can't talk, well, I can but I'm not going to on the account that it will make my voice worse. Yeah. Well, at least I didn't have to really get up until 10:30 this morning. No spanish...thinking about not going to geology.

It's actually kind of weird. I mean, three weeks in Windom was far too long to be spending there, but it gave me time to sort out stuff that's going on in my life. Feelings, old friends, new problems at home, all of that stuff. I saw a bunch of people over break AWAY from school which was WONDERFUL, but now that I'm back seeing some of these people is just bringing up weird feelings that I thought I left behind back in last semester.

Oh well. I think tonight I'll treat myself to a grande latte at TMC and walk around and ponder things, I'll see if some of the other gals here want to come with. February is coming-I'm not even going to go there with what happened last February, which is another reason why I'm thinking about this stuff. I might go and sit in on open mic night too, just think about random stuff...

Reflections on Ripple Effect

You know, it's sad I don't have anything else to write about, so I'll write about Sci-Fi Friday last night.

Stargate SG-1: Ripple Effect. Oh my. I was entertained from start to finish on this one. Loved it. A room full of Carters eating blue jello and drinking coffee trying to solve whatever brought all of these SG-1 teams to the SGC was hilarious. I hated the whole run-around of who Sam was with in one reality to the next; I mean, they've told us it was Jack in all the other ones so why should this one be any different? Janet and Martouf!!!! Another oh my. And yea for Janet being on SG-1 too, even if she was just Sam's replacement when she was on maternity leave. I really didn't see Martouf leaving the Tok'ra to be on SG-1 to be with Sam, but then again, we didn't know the state of the Tok'ra at that time, either.

Read the deleted scenes posted on Gateworld; I wish the reference to Cassie wouldn't have been cut. And the Sam/Cam kiss in the elevator? Isn't that some kind of breaking regs too? Or is that just because that team was all evil and stuff...

But yeah, 15 Carters all in the same room eating jello...Priceless!

I'm writing another post! Yea for being back in Mo-town, but I am dying with reading. Aargh. Geology is hilarious...I love our Prof. My new roommate is AWESOME. Living with her is such a blast.

Now for a picture...Yea for the new Stargate episode on Friday. It's called Ripple Effect, and that's where the picture is from. That person with her back to us, that has to be YOU-KNOW-WHO and I'm excited!! And then there's Martouf, which is going to be interesting, too. I wonder if they're going to bring up the whole Martouf/Jolinar thing again, at least for one episode. We haven't heard about Jolinar lately and I think it's an interesting storyline. And we get to see Thor in Ripple Effect! I love Thor, too.

Stargate Atlantis

So, I FINALLY was able to watch Grace Under Pressure the other night. The Stargate Atlantis episode I've been waiting for FOREVER.

And I was not disappointed. Although I can really only take Rodney McKay in small doses, it worked in this episode. Bouncing his character off his minds hallucination of Sam Carter was hilarious! If you're a Stargate fan, this is one episode you'll have to see. Mark your calendars for January 27th and enjoy.

I think the 2nd half of Stargate Atlantis is much better than the first half; I mean, Critical Mass (Episode 2x13) has enough suspense in it to keep you guessing until the end. And, I'm trying not to give anything away, but you get to see Teyla do something that no Stargate character has ever done...And she does it pretty well.

As for Grace Under Pressure...Here's some pictures if you want to spoil yourself!! (Ignore the background music...apparently it was the default music.)

Don't know if I'll get to write again before I leave Mo-town for break...If not...Merry Christmas to all!

I just got word that John Spencer, the man who plays Leo McGarry on the West Wing, died today of a heart attack. This makes me very sad. It's sad to see his character go. I loved Leo; he seemed to be the only person who believed in Josh most of the time. He was the President's politcal conscious; the man who got him to run for office! He was a political genius in every sense of the word.

John himself was a good man. At only 58 years old, it seems bitterly ironic that he would pass on from a heart attack; the same thing that forced his character Leo to quit his job at the White House. I'm sure all West Wing fans will miss him as much as I do.

AARGH!!! I'd be screaming loudly, but there's people STILL sleeping in here...

Maybe I'm too nice of a person sometimes. Maybe Mo-town is killing my spirit. More then likely, lack of sleep is killing my spirit.

I nearly killed myself trying to go to stats this morning. I stubbed my toe getting out of bed, had to hang on to a loft for support-mainly so I could stay standing and not kill the people sleeping on the floor, nearly took my closet door off it's hinges when I tripped on the edge of the mattress that was on the floor, had to get ready in the bathroom for class, wearing mis-matched socks because I could see in the dresser because I couldn't get close to the dresser.

You can see why I'm screaming now. I came back from Poli-Sci (my second class of the day) and saw them still sleeping on the floor. I said 'screw this' is my mind, turned on the light and said 'I'm not stepping over body parts anymore. Wake up.' That felt good.

I can't wait for my stats final...Then I'll get to GO HOME!!!! See my cats, Vinny, Emily, people at school, go to a KB meet, have home-cooked meals, work...Not have to worry about tripping on people sleeping on my floor...Yea!!

This Stargate Atlantis episode that the pic is from (Grace Under Pressure) airs tonight in Canada. I can't wait to hear about it from the Canadians on Gateworld.

Good episodes of Stargate on Sci-Fi Monday tonight. Maybe they'll bring my mood up a notch. The first is Death Knell (A Carter-centered and Tok'ra/Jaffa/Earth Alliance-centered episode where we see the Alliance falling apart, and Carter proving her mettle after surviving encounter after encounter with one of Anubis' Kull Warriors, and then the last two are Heroes Part 1 and Heroes Part 2. Even though they're really sad, these two are perhaps the two best episodes in the 9 season run of SG-1. Everyone is just great in these two episodes.

Aargh!!! I had two cans of pop when I woke up this morning, and now, for some reason, can't fall back asleep so I can take a nap before Poli-Sci. AARGH!!!

I mean, I don't even mind that Mitchell is in it, although, only taking a three second glance at first, I almost mixed up Daniel and Mitchell. I wonder what they're doing exactly; basically all we know about the episode where this picture is from (Off the Grid-site contains spoilers) is that the Lucian Alliance comes back.

I mean, look at this one. It looks like SG-1 gets themselves into some trouble here. It feels good to know we're getting back to SG-1's action-filled show; it doesn't look like it'll be disappointing! I mean, I know I wouldn't want to get in the way of Teal'c when he's got guns like that.

Still kinda pissed at the world...and my blog...

I find myself getting very annoyed at the smallest things today. I'm getting really good at the being a bitch thing, which hasn't happened in a while.

Had an argument about whether Jack O'Neill is retired (which he isn't) and I completely blew it up. Got into an argument about downloading songs illegally v. copying movies illegally which I just should've stopped, but NO, I had to keep talking. I felt like yelling at EVERYONE, except for Jenny for some reason. She's going to make a good teacher. I'm going to fly my kids to whatever school she's teaching at.

We made snowflakes and hung them all over our floor, which was fun and managed to get my mind off of what's going on with my cast of friends in Windom and here for a little bit. Talked to a guy on my floor about what's going on right now; talking to him makes me feel better. Like I wrote in my last post, watched A LOT of Stargate, mainly my DVD of the last five episodes they've aired from season 9. Then we began to watch season 1, but I really should try to sleep. But it's not working. I did realize tonight, however, that I hate people doing the whole running commentary thing during something that you really llike. Maybe that's why I don't really watch Stargate or the West Wing out in the lounge anymore as much as I do on my laptop or in my room.

Tomorrow, well, technically today, I have a meeting with my Poli-Sci issue group to discuss our group presentation. That should give me a good break away from people; and then if it's not so damn cold I'll go for a walk later to clear my head. Maybe go to Jenny's concert, too. I need distractions!!

Where I'm pissed off at the world!!!!

I'm blaring my music really loudly right now, but I couldn't care less. I can feel my keyboard vibrating it's playing that loudly. I'm probably going to blow out my speakers. I didn't know how I felt at lunch, but after talking to a friend from home and him telling me some stuff that was going on and today having nothing to do, and another thing, I put my finger on how I'm feeling.

You see, I go through these phases. Today is one of those days where I'm pissed off at the world. Be it though things that I hear are happening back home, politics, homework, people, etc. And I feel like I have to be a bitch, which I've been trying to downplay today, but I don't think it's entirely worked.

I need to watch Stargate. It calms me down.

After going to the boring FYS jamboree, studying FAR FAR too long for my stats midterm, and missing out on my usual Stargate on Sci-Fi (5pm Weekdays!), I watched the West Wing this afternoon.
What else did I do?
I took a wonderful shower and am watching an episode of Stargate at my own leisure. Yea!!

What I Wish I Could Be Watching: A BRAND NEW episode of The West Wing. Alas...The second week of December is so far away.

Currently Listening to (Once Stargate is done): Rock Star: A Night At the Mayan Theater

I would normally also delve into the West Wing, but that hasn't been on since the second week of November. I'm a little MAD about that. Bring back the West Wing!!!

Yes. I'll admit it. I'm in a rut. I want a new routine, but I do want to keep some elements of the old routine in place. My normally overactive imagination isn't being overactive at all. Plus, it's a Monday. I'm usually so pent up with some kind of anger at my stats homework or poli-sci, that I use my Monday evenings to relax with Sci-Fi's Stargate Monday, but it seems like I can't even do that anymore. Matt was right when he said sci-fi fans are the most mis-understood on the planet. I watched one episode of Stargate when I got back on Sunday-"Emancipation," and that was all I had watched for all of Thanksgiving break. We don't get cable at my house, so there went watching Sci-Fi Friday.

Grace just finished on Sci-Fi Monday, and it continues to be one of my favorite episodes. I love the fact that it's Carter-centric, and I love trying to unravel who exactly the little girl named Grace is. My mind is actually working at the moment! Yea! Fallout is on now; I haven't seen that one in a LONG time.

I'm hungry. I think I'll eat a sandwich.

The last post wasn't my last before Thanksgiving. I am fully aware of the time, but I am blogging anyway.

Spent a large amount of time tonight chatting with my fabulous neighbor Jenny. We talked about a bunch of stuff; relationships, people, home, people at home...etc. She's absolutely wonderful to talk to about absolutely anything. (I'm typing this knowing full well she's going to read it. I mean every word!) I didn't even realize how long we were talking...I guess that's a good thing.

Well, after listing to Rent some more I realize I should go to BED. Even though I don't have to get up until like, nine tomorrow.

Stargate Casts Sign On For New Season

Okay. I'm happy about the first article, torked about the second. Vala=NO. I was having a conversation about her with some people from 2A about her when I was down there watching Stargate on Saturday, and they hate her as much as I do.

Why, you may ask? I'll have to refer you back to my Women in Sci-Fi post from before, but I'll reinterate a small point again. The reason that I MYSELF like Sam Carter is because she's a freakin' genius and she'll kick your ass at any second (see "Emancipation" and "Death Knell" if you need elaboration on this.), and we've gotten to see both sides of her. We've seen that strong, military side, and we got to see that side of her that comes out when she leaves the SGC; people could identify with what was going on with her.

Vala...Well, lets just say the popular opinion with her is that she's the writers way of reacher younger males. But this isn't entirely true, either. I was talking to someone who's a new Stargate watcher from back home, he's a guy, and he confessed hating Vala's character for all the innuendo she spouts off.

But I digress. I guess this is a reason why I'm a member of the Sam's a Great Character Thread on Gateworld and the Anti-Vala thread, too. I guess one just has to take small doses of Vala, but as far as most people I know are concerned, they can't get enough of Carter.

Okay. Jessie left on Thursday for New York (I'm so completely jealous). Alex and Jenny left for their respective locations on Friday, Sylvia left on Friday for her friend's birthday celebration, and I am here. I mean, I LOVE it here; it's a lot better than a regular weekend in Windom most of the time, but it feels like I'm the only girl still on this floor. (I think Megan is here, though.) So, what did I do on Friday after class? Stargate...Stargate...Stargate...I'm beginning to sense a pattern. Actually, when I got back from Spanish and after Jenny left, I watched the movie Seabiscuit. I (heart) that movie. I'm a big horse racing fan. Then I watched the three hour Stargate marathon that was on Sci-Fi consisting of "Beachhead"-Where Carter comes back to the SGC and Vala gets pulled to the Ori galaxy (Yea! I can start watching again! Sam's back and Vala's gone for the time being!), "Ex Deus Machina" (This episode, with Carter's "Not exactly" and figuring out there's CLONES of Ba'al and the Prometheus has to beam an entire building into space because Carter figures out it's laced with Naquadah would've been perfect...Except for Ben Browder. He annoys the crap out of me, and so does his character. Okay? This is STARGATE. Not FARSCAPE.) and finally "Babylon" (I'm indifferent when it comes to this episode. Fourth Horseman, Part One is so much better. And Gerak as a Prior? That is some crazy bulls#@*t. Went to bed at midnight or shortly before, and my eyes fluttered open at 7 AM-THAT'S IN THE MORNING.

Saturday
Woke up. Watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Yea. Worked on my FYS paper, which I don't want to entirely finish today because I want something to do tomorrow. THERE IS NO HAPPY MEDIUM!!!! Listened to music for a LONG time. And then guess what? Started to watch Stargate again...Now I'm getting hungry.

So, there's my boring weekend in a nutshell...I'm trying to talk some people into taking over the main lounge tonight and watch a movie on the flatscreen down there...We'll see how that goes.

More snow came today, but none of it stuck. I'm so pissed that it won't stay on the ground.

But anyway, today was a good day. Did fairly good on a Stats quiz, Poli-Sci wasn't a total bust, FYS was good, and I'm also feeling QUITE confident about our Spanish test.

And to those who left the comments about Jack O'Neill that I deleted...ha ha...(You know who you are, BCF!) Show me another man his age that looks like that and I may reconsider. But for now, Jack O'Neill is hot. Grey hair and all.

Sunday's episode of The West Wing was possibly the best hour of live television I've ever seen. I am in awe of Alan Alda and Jimmy Smits; they are awesome actors and both deserve Emmys for their performances. Kudos to NBC for airing the debate!

Children of the Gods (Stargate SG-1) was on Sci-Fi Wednesday night. Any chance I can to hear Sam's entrance to the show-that first briefing which is stacked full of her saying awesome stuff-is a good day. But I was really mad when they got there; they cut out most of the good part...(Here it is...)

O'Neill: Where's he transferring from?
Carter:She is transferring from the Pentagon.
[Carter enters the room, and moves to her seat at the table.]
Carter: I take it you're Colonel O'Neill. (She salutes) Captain Samantha Carter reporting, sir.
[O'Neill salutes back.]
Kawalsky: But of course you go by Sam.
Carter: You don't have to worry, Major, I played with dolls when I was a kid.
Kawalsky: GI Joe?
Carter: No, Major Matt Mason.
Kawalsky: Oh… (To Ferretti) Who?
Ferretti: Major Matt Mason, astronaut doll. Did you have that cool little backpack that made him fly?
Hammond: Let's get started, Colonel?

Aargh. It's that whole scene that makes it one of my favorites in the series. But, at least on the 18th, we get to see Sam come back to season 9 in Beachhead and say her "not exactly" line in Ex Deus Machina. I haven't seen Beachhead or Ex Deus Machina yet; they're the only two in Season 9 that they've had on that I haven't seen. Can't wait for the second half to come on in January. Especially Ripple Effect, which we've heard not much about, but what we have heard is interesting.

Tapping Crossing Over to Atlantis?

Aargh. Okay, I know these are just rumors, but they are distressing ones at that. The writers don't know what do with Sam Carter? Sure, they boxed her in during Season 9, but that's because they moved her to Area 51 to help Cassie deal with Janet's death, to assist on the Daedalus, and those "unknown" personal reasons that she mentioned in Avalon. (And Amanda Tapping had a baby.) You know what the writers could've done in Beachhead when Landry recalled Sam? Said, "Hey, you've spent 8+ years working on/going through the gate, so I'm going to give you command of SG-1 and not give command to the guy who's only known about this thing for a year and has maybe gone through it 20 times." Instead, Sam, this strong, intelligent, military woman has to share command with Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I have a feminist ideology. Now, I will admit, Sci-Fi movies/tv shows have come a long way from the days of Uhura in a mini-skirt on the bridge of the Enterprise, but it's this treatment of Sam Carter/Amanda Tapping that makes me think that we haven't gone FAR ENOUGH. Why is it that all of her male counterparts on the show-Browder, Shanks, Judge, Bridges, and even Vala (on the right and played by Claudia Black) all got calls about coming back on Season 10, and Tapping did not? Again, she was told the writers didn't know where to go with Sam Carter, and the fact they were thinking of splitting her between SG-1 and Atlantis. As I stated before, Carter is a strong, intelligent, military woman who without her, they would never have been able to dial out of Cheyenne Mountain. She's the world's leading expert on the Stargate, and what would Atlantis do with her? They've already got their resident expert-McKay. And it's pretty clear, while they battle with their intelligence, McKay's lust for Carter really isn't returned. As for Vala herself, the last time we saw her she was sucked into some kind of black-hole type deal that the Ori were using to power their super Stargate. And this whole "One in ten" chance that the baby she's carrying is Daniel's? Where does her story go after that?

Two of the strongest women on Sci-Fi right now are Sam Carter and Kara Thrace (Battlestar Galactica.) Now, these are two women who don't wear skin-tight leather outfits and don't give everything some kind of sexual connotation (see Vala's introduction in "Avalon"), these two are perfectly happy saving the world, shooting their guns with the best of the boys, and not needing a man in every cornerof the galaxy. Battlestar Galactica/Sci-Fi took a risk casting Katee Sackoff as Starbuck; in the original series, Starbuck was a male. Has she made the role of Starbuck any less original from when Dirk Benedict played it? From what I've seen of the original series and the current series, they're two peas of the same pod. The show also took a risk when it came to casting Grace Park in the role of Boomer; Boomer was also a male in the original series. Sure, this may have disappointed some of the original series fans, but most got used to it and realized they were still staying true to their character. I just realized that I haven't even touched on Admiral Katheryn Janeway from Star Trek (played by Kate Mulgrew); when she played the Captain of the doomed ship Voyager she was groundbreaking for the series, and when she was introduced as an Admiral in the movie Star Trek: Nemesis, it was EVEN more groundbreaking.

In season 1, we saw Sam struggling to become her own in a male-dominated Air Force, become like a mother to Cassie and deal with almost losing her, in Season 4 we started to see sparks fly between her and Jack (those can keep coming-I'm totally against the "black widow" curse), in season 7 we saw Sam Carter out of the SGC, and with that she once again broke the mold for a woman in Sci-Fi. We got to see her with Pete in Season 7 and 8, and we watched her grieve over Janet in Season 7 and her father in Season 8. While I wasn't a big fan of Pete, it was refreshing to see that side of her-to know she had that side. No where to go with Sam, eh? Maybe Stargate needs a female writer or two. Hmm...

Personally, I would like to go back to focusing on the team dynamic-get back to the basics that made Stargate so fun to watch with RDA, AT, CJ and MS, and what made it the longest running Sci-Fi show ever. Plus, I know I'm not the only one who'd like to know what Jack is up to in DC...it seems like he just fell off the face of the earth...

3 Years Later; Reflection

October 25th.

There's part of me that will always hate this day; Paul Wellstone, his wife Sheila, their daughter Marcia Wellstone Markuson and five others died on a plane headed for a funeral in northern Minnesota. As I get older, it becomes easier to deal with, but there are things that make it hard. We (some of the College DFL members) watched the Wellstone! movie tonight, and that last scene-I'm not entirely sure what song it is, but with the pictures and stuff thrown in, it's just hard to watch.

Before that day in 2002, I really didn't have any idea what I wanted to do with my life. I'm completely convinced that it is because of the legacy that he left that I am here at Morris rather than settling with the crowd and attending the Twin Cities. I am convinced it is because of what happened that day that I am here as a Political Science major with idealistic plans to revolutionize the world as we know it. I was never a big believer in fate/kismet/whatever, but there's something here that's meant to be. And I'm going to take the next four years of my life and explore and figure out what that is.

Enough deep thoughts for the day...Time to do something fun...

Both Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis both got renewed for their 10th and 3rd seasons, respectively. Yea!!! This makes SG-1 the longest running Sci-Fi series since the X-Files, who had only 9 seasons. I'm excited. The people over at Sci-Fi must've realized it's going to take more than 1 season to be the Ori. Hopefully, when the series does come to it's unfortunate end, it will go out with a bang--An SG-1/Atlantis crossover movie, perhaps? One can only hope.

Rare day...No homework. Went weightlifting with Derek, Joe and Moon...It hurts to type...My arms feel like water...Only one solution. Watch Stargate SG-1 Monday on Sci-Fi! Yea!!

I do. I'm in a mood today; I don't know what it is. Maybe it's because it's Sunday and I have a 8 am Stats class tomorrow morning. But I'm watching Stargate right now and it's helping, I'm not in such a mood at the moment. It's a good episode; it's fun to see O'Neill having to cope with not being a member of SG-1 anymore and Carter taking her first "real" command.

Working on my FYS paper listening to some violin music from the group Bond, and it's pretty good, too.

First of all...I hate cliffhangers. They had a HUGE one on Stargate on Friday night. And next week is the finale for Atlantis; they'll both be back on in January. I'm a little mad there's no more O'Neill on every episode, but you have to give and take I guess. Alex and I were quite mad about the episode on Friday night, how it ended. It's Sunday; did some homework, watched the Vikings totally suck, and talked about the movie a bunch of us went to go see last night. "Four Brothers." Good movie.

Best Song Ever: American Idiot (Green Day)

I hate Statistics, but have to pretend to love it for my major. We've done one thing even remotely related to politics, and I was able to come up with the right answer before he finished reading the scenario. Had a TA Section in Poli-Sci where I lead a revolution to not-quite abolish the Electoral College but pretty damn close, it's also Constitution Day, and The Incredibles is showing in Edson tonight!

Went to Spanish...Wow, those quizzes are what people currently in Sra.'s class would think of as a test. Partially blew my mind. At least I'm good at vocab.

Going out with people tonight...Awesome stuff! Hopefully one of these days we'll have our MacGyver marathon too...We'll figure that out.

There's a FB game tomorrow which I probably won't go to until halftime, and tonight it's also Sci-Fi Friday!!!
